Pumpkin Spice Energy Bites
The holidays are upon us… who’s excited?!?
Or do the holidays get you kind of nervous because all your inhibition runs out the window?
Well, follow these simple rules over the next 3 months and we promise you’ll be feeling great…
4 Simple Rules to Follow AT ALL TIMES
1) Eat only when you’re actually hungry. There are going to be LOTS of extra foods around, especially extra buttery or sugary things that are extremely high calorie.
If you’re not even hungry, politely say, “Thanks, but I’m already full,” or try this one: “I might have some a little later, I’m not really hungry right now.” If you are hungry, feel free to have a bite or two, but then get yourself some real food.
2) When you think you’re hungry, try drinking water first just to make sure your hunger is real. Thirst is misinterpreted as hunger all the time.
If you feel like you’re getting hungry, try drinking a bottle of water first, then waiting 10-15 minutes before you have your next meal.
3) Don’t let yourself get to the point of starving. You should never pass the “pain stage” of hunger.
If you feel hunger coming on, eat something healthy. Do NOT skip meals or deprive yourself of healthy food.
4) Do something physical every single day. Do NOT let yourself be a lump on a log.
The temptation around the holidays to sit on the couch all day doing nothing is going to be very strong at times, but no one feels good after allowing themselves to do that. Quite the opposite, actually — that makes you feel like Santa in the off season.
5) Make healthier alternatives to your favorite recipes. Try our Guiltless Pumpkin Pie or Healthy Pumpkin Spice Donuts this year 😉
Speaking of pumpkin… this recipe is SO delicious.
Make these Pumpkin Spice Energy Bites as a quick, easy snack you can keep in the fridge to snack on between running errands and Christmas shopping.
