Green Smoothie Recipes for Weight Loss
Okay, Liz and I are seriously obsessed with this amazing, plant-based green smoothie recipe.
Seriously. OBSESSED.
It’s kind of out of control, so we figured we should share our little secret fat burning smoothie recipe with you.
Green smoothies are one of the best snacks or meal replacements if you’re trying to lose weight because they are nutrient-rich, full of fiber (aka super-filling! sign me up), and low in calories.
They also help to keep you ultra hydrated since they contain so much water. But it’s not as boring as drinking plain water! So everyone wins.
Craving something sweet first thing in the morning?
Then this smoothie will be your new best friend.
You can thank me later 😉 But for now, just remember to pin this recipe to use later. It’s a great alternative to having a salad or a full veggie-based meal, and it’ll taste better than that too!
You’re gonna get hooked. And if you do, leave a comment so we know you liked it!
Oh ps, I also threw together a quick Green Smoothie Guide for you since you’re reading this on the actual blog and we love our blog readers… Feel free to use it to make yourself a delicious nutrient-packed green smoothie any time, with any ingredients you have laying around the house!
Check it out or Pin it below.

Hi Erin, great question! You can use 1-2 pitted dates instead of the bananas for a natural sweetener. I’m going to film a quick video in the next couple weeks on this exact same topic over on our YouTube channel, so check back over there for exactly how to make this easy substitute! 🙂 Hope this helps!
I am allergic to bananas! They are in so many smoothies and so good for you! What would be a good substitute?
Yes, use whatever greens you’d like! 🙂
The bag that contains The greens have what green?? Can it just be spinach?
Yes no problem! Just look for the unsweetened versions. 🙂
Can I use vanilla almond milk
Unsweetened almond milk 🙂
Motivation Monday 🙂
Could you list the ingredients. Seems you are using some kind of silk milk but you don’t specify if it’s almond or coconut. Sweet or unsweetened. Sounds delicious otherwise.
Not really anymore… We have strayed away from most protein powders due to the dairy content as well as the artificial/chemical ingredients.
Hi there- looks super yummy. I do something similar but add 1 scoop vanilla protein powder and 1/4 cup frozen blueberries. Do you two ever use protein powder in your green smoothies?
