Best Mother’s Day Gift Ever!

Mother’s Day is coming, and I’ve been in a really crafty mood lately! So I partnered up with @CanonUSA to show you girls a really great gift idea that’s fun, easy and so thoughtful – you’ll definitely win the “best friend” award with this idea… 🙂

I’m creating unique and thoughtful gifts this year for the special moms in my life, one of which is my younger sister.

If you haven’t been following along with their journey, Sara and her husband are having their first son sometime in July. We are all so excited and can’t wait to meet him!

To honor this special experience of becoming a mother for her, I really wanted to create a sweet, one-of-a-kind housewarming gift for when they move into their new home next month.

I really wanted to make this for her so she can always remember the journey that led her to love, marriage and motherhood. I think she’ll like it!

I’m using the new PIXMA TS9521C printer for this project.

Side note – this printer is my new favorite toy! It’s so perfect for making quick, thoughtful gifts that you can give to friends and family (and hey, maybe even total strangers!).

They call this the “Crafter’s All-In-One Printer” because it’s specifically made for crafting and scrapbooking. #CraftyWithCanon

It can print greeting cards, invitations, scrapbook materials, custom prints, and even magnet photos for your fridge!

In fact, this weekend another friend of mine had a birthday, and I printed them a quick magnet photo from the day so they have that memory forever… It was a hit to say the least, and everyone thought I had it custom made!

Anyway, I also like that it prints regular documents and photos in addition to the crafty ones too, because I would hate to have two big printers in my house, taking up space.

It’s really a win-win. So anyway, here’s what I’m doing…

I printed out several cute photos of her and her husband (and their dogs) and strung them up on a piece of string using little mini clothespins.

This took me about 15 minutes total, and I guarantee it’ll bring joy for years to come. Hey, maybe they’ll even hang it over their son’s crib, who knows?!

I even made myself a little gift – I printed out a picture of my own babies, Peanut and Rocket!

I wanted to share this with you all because it was such a fun, easy way to show my family I love them. I see myself making lots more cute crafts like this with this printer.
