Healthy Gluten Free Oreos Recipe by Sarah Grace

Only FOUR days until Christmas?! This holiday season has gone by way too quickly, does anyone agree?

But we certainly aren’t done sharing some wonderful holiday recipes with you all!

Looking for a healthy gluten free oreos recipe? You’ve found it! Sarah Grace from Fresh Fit N Healthy is sharing her secret recipe today with us. 

After absolutely loving these incredibly delicious yet healthy GF Homemade Oreos from our friend Sarah’s blog, we knew we wanted to share it with you all!

GF Homemade Oreos {paleo version available}
Makes about 12 Oreos, or 24 cookies

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup Almond Meal
  • 3 tablespoons Coconut Flour
  • ½ cup Cocoa Powder, unsweetened
  • ¼ cup Monk Fruit in the Raw (or other sugar for paleo diet)
  • ¼ cup Applesauce, unsweetened
  • 3 tablespoons Raw Honey (I use Kevala’s brand)
  • 2 tablespoons Coconut Oil
  • ½ teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • ¼ teaspoon Baking Powder
  • ⅛ teaspoon Sea Salt

FOR FILLING

  • 1 can full fat coconut milk
  • ¼ cup Coconut Butter, softened (I use Kevala’s brand)
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Optional: Mint Extract, Sweetener, Crushed Peppermint, Chlorophyll for coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
  2. Combine all dry ingredients for cookies together in bowl
  3. Combine all wet ingredients in smaller bowl
  4. Mix wet ingredient into dry ingredients
  5. Roll dough in ball and place in between parchment paper
  6. Flatten with rolling pin to desired cookie thickness
  7. Using a small circle cookie cutter, cut dough into small circles
  8. Bake on cookie tray sprayed with nonstick spray for about 7 minutes
  9. While cookies are baking, make coconut cream by whipping coconut milk(recipe below).
  10. Allow cookies to cool, and place about 1 tablespoon cream mixture on one cookie. Top with another cookie

 

We just keep thinking about how great these Oreos would be to make as gifts! Or for our friends and family when they come over for the holidays these next few days.

Or, maybe we just may keep them all for ourselves. Mm mm mmm. 😉
