Superfood Oatmeal

Have you ever wondered what we eat for breakfast? Well, we’ll let you in on a little secret ~ it’s nothing fancy! In fact, most of the time we eat very simple without elaborate recipes. We’re human too ~ we get busy and don’t have the time or energy to cook every meal. So this is Sara’s staple breakfast to jumpstart her morning on the right foot. It’s full of superfoods, antioxidants, vitamins, & minerals that give you the sustained energy to get you through those busy mornings. Plus, it’s full of fiber so it will keep you full long after breakfast is over. This is Sara’s perfect fall morning start ~ warm, comforting and chocolately!

Superfood Oatmeal

Makes 1 serving

  • 1/2 cup old fashioned oatmeal
  • 1 cup water or milk of choice
  • 1/2 tbs cacao powder
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 packet stevia
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tbs cacao nibs
  • 1/2 tbs chia seeds
  • 1/4 cup blueberries

In a small saucepan, combine oatmeal, water (or milk), cacao powder, cinnamon, stevia, vanilla and salt. Cook over medium heat for 4-5 minutes until oats are cooked. Place in a bowl and top with cacao nibs, chia seeds and blueberries. Enjoy!
