Banana Oat Breakfast Bars

Our mom is trying to eat more natural foods lately. We’ve been spending a lot of time together and it looks like our influence is rubbing off because she was open to adapting one of her favorite recipes, these Banana Oat Breakfast Bars. We added protein and swapped the sugary applesauce she was using so that they’d be healthier and more filling.

It’s possible to adapt any recipe to be healthier. This recipe is proof that eating clean doesn’t take much extra effort! 🙂 These bars are a yummy way to start the day if you’re looking to switch things up in the kitchen, and we bet kids would love them too. Since they can be stored for a few days, that makes them super portable as a grab-n-go snack you can bring with you to work (which is what our mom does). These are also a great post-workout carb source that you can have with your whey protein to help aid recovery.

So many options! 🙂 Enjoy.
